Iron is an essential trace mineral in the human body. Adult human body contain approximately 4.5 grams of iron, with 60 to 70 percent of it contained in hemoglobin, about 3 percent in myoglobin, and the reminder is stored in various organs.

Without enough iron, your body can't produce enough hemoglobin and myoglobin. Hemoglobin is a substance (heterotetrameric oxygen transport protein) in red blood cells (erythrocytes) that enables them to carry oxygen.

Sore Throat

Sore throat is usually the first indication that you are getting sick. Most sore throat problems are caused by viruses; the same germs that cause colds and flu. A much smaller number are due to bacterial infections.

Antibiotics aren't effective against viruses. Your best response to viral infections are self-care measures like rest and plenty of liquids.

First Aid Camping & Outdoors Checklist

When you are faced with an emergency, firs-aid kit and being organized will help you stay calm and handle any stressful situation.

It's easy to get distracted when you're having fun, and that's when injuries happen. If a person is cut or injured while out in the wild, encourage her/him not to panic.

Remember, if you or somebody else in your group experience an injury causing sudden pain and inflammation, use "RICE" (rest, ice, compression and elevation).
