A state holiday in the United States is one that is celebrated only within a U.S. state, and recognized by the state government, rather than celebrated nationally, and recognized by the U.S. federal government.Examples of state holidays include Cesar Chavez's birthday, which is celebrated in California, and Pioneer Day, which is celebrated in Utah.
