- Most commonly it refers to a train on a rail transport system.
- In animal-powered transport, a caravan may be referred to as a camel train (Australia and Middle East), or a horse-powered wagon train (USA)
- A road train is a similar modern development that utilises road vehicles to carry freight most commonly found in Australia.
- Also running on roads, a trackless train which looks like a train is often used for amusement.
- In clothing a train refers to the part of a some gowns that trail behind the wearer, for example a bridal train on a wedding dress
- A sperm train is a (slightly controversial) theory that sperm move together.
- Train (band) is an American pop music group
