Third Eye Blind

Third Eye Blind is an alternative rock band which was begun in the early 1990s. The original members were Stephan Jenkins (singer and electric guitar), Adrian Burley (drums), Jason Slater (bass guitar), and the main source of songwriting talent and guitar playing; Kevin Cadogan. The band's line-up changed several times, and the current line-up is Stephan Jenkins (vocals, guitar), Arion Salazar (bass), Brad Hargreaves (drums), and Tony Fredianelli (guitar).

Third Eye Blind recorded their first demo in 1993. Through a lot of recording, the band finally signed with Elektra Records in June of 1996 after opening a show for Oasis. Third Eye Blind's 14-track self-titled debut album was released on April 8, 1997. Their debut album included the smash hit "Semi-Charmed Life", with Cadogan showcasing his song writing abilities on 10 of the 14 tracks, making their debut album a great success. At the end of 1999 they began writing new material and recorded their 13-track second album Blue, which was released on November 23, 1999. A confused Cadogan was 'released' from the group soon thereafter. Third Eye Blind took almost 5 years to release their heavily anticipated yet highly disappointing third album, Out of Vein.

Kevin cadogan is now building a career with a group called 'Bully'.

A common misconception is that the name of the band is a euphemism for penis. In a recent interview on a radio station, Stephan Jenkins replied that the band's name comes from the idea of a mind's eye that he read about in a book. The other group members liked it and they chose it to be the band's name.
