Teucer

Two figures in Greek mythology had the name Teucer:

  1. The son of Hesione and Telamon, Teucer fought with his half-brother, Ajax the great, in the Trojan War and is the legendary founder of the city Salamis on Cyprus.
  2. Son of Scamander and Icaea, Teucer was the legendary ancestor of the Trojans. Hence Trojans were sometimes referred to as "Teucrians". His daughter, Batea, married Dardanus. This Teucer fought on the side of the Trojans against the Greeks. (In Apollodorus's Bibliotheke III, xii, 1.)

Alternative: Teucris
