Spring (water)

A spring is a place where an underground stream flows out of the ground. By analogy, a fountain can also be called a spring. As it flows underground, a stream picks up minerals from rockss, and so water flowing from a spring is often bottled and sold as mineral water.

A spring may be the source of a river.
