Sharon Pratt Dixon

Sharon Pratt Dixon (later Sharon Pratt Kelly; b. 1944) was the first black woman to be elected mayor of a large, influential city in the United States. On January 2, 1991 she was sworn in as the mayor of Washington, DC.
