S-type asteroid
Apxoximately 17% of all known asteroids are of an S-type (for stony). They are moderately bright (albedo 0.10 to 0.22) asteroids, consisting of metallic nickel-iron mixed with iron- and magnesium-silicates. They dominate the inner to central main belt. The spectrum has an absorption feature shortward of 0.7 µm and weak absorption bands near 1 and 2 µm.(You can use the "What links here" toolbox link to find asteroids of this type)
