Action

Acting with the rhomboid minor, both muscles retracts the scapula and rotates it to depress the glenoid cavity. It also fixes the scapula to the thoracic wall.

Innervation

Both rhomboid major and minor are innervated by the dorsal scapular nerve (C4 and C5)

Blood supply

Both rhomboid major and minor receives its arterial blood supply from the dorsal scapular artery.
