Red star

The fivepointed red star is a symbol of communism and represents five fingers of the worker's hand as well as five (inhabited) continents. It is or was used on several flags and coats of arms of communist countries, for example on flag of Yugoslavia.

Red Star was also popular name of several European sport clubs from communist countries. Among them there are two known football clubs:

• FK Red Star (Serbian Crvena zvezda), Belgrade
• Roter Stern, Leipzig

Russian military newspaper is also called the Red Star (Russian Krasnaya Zvezda).
