Pinewood Studios

Pinewood Studios is a major film studio location in England, approximately 20 miles west of London.

Pinewood Studios was established in 1935 by Charles Boot and J. Arthur Rank on the site of Heatherden Hall.

It provided the base for a whole generation of smutty British comedies when the Carry On films were made there from the 1950s to the 1970s. Stars such as Kenneth Williams and Sid James made these very British films immensely popular and Pinewood Studios was at its height.

The current management of Pinewood Studios also owns Shepperton Studios, the other leading British studio location. Both studios are linked to the media network Sohonet as part of Studiolink.
