Philip James Edwin Peebles
Philip James Edwin Peebles (born April 25 1935) is an American astronomer. He is usually known by the name "James" or "Jim".He was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He is currently a professor emeritus at Princeton University.
He won the Henry Norris Russell Lectureship in 1993. He won the Bruce Medal in 1995, and the Gold Medal of the Royal Astronomical Society in 1998.
