PhatThe term Phat has a number of uses:
- Phat is an adjective to describe approval in Hip Hop culture. Hence, someone or something that is phat could be cool, rich, entertaining, intelligent, fly or otherwise to be admired. The term derives from Black English Vernacular (Ebonics) as a deliberate misspelling of the word fat. In imitation of this pop culture usage Superphat is a variation of phat which first appeared in a 1999 Cap'n Crunch ® television advertisement. The Cap'n Crunch character uttered the following phrase in the popular hip-hop vernacular, "Yo crew, the crunch is superphat."[1]
- Phat is also an acronym for Pretty Hot And Tempting, Plenty of Hips And Thighs, and the more popular (and vulgar) Pussy Hips And Tits.
- Also a comic book character from Marvel Comics' "X-Statix." Billy Bob goes by the moniker Phat and is a parody of white rapper Eminem.
- Phat is also a series of demo parties arranged by Phantasy.
