Pervertible

Pervertible is a widely used term originally coined by David Stein to describe ordinary non-sexual objects, especially everyday household objects, that can used sexually, particularly in BDSM play. The word is frequently misspelled "pervertable."

Common pervertibles include:

• bamboo skewers
• clothes pegs
• candles
• ping-pong (table tennis) paddles
• hairbrushes
• plastic wrap
• ice cubes
• cooking utensils and knives
• belts
• bandannas as blindfolds or gags
• snake bite kits (provide suction)
• mentholated rubs
• feathers or feather dusters
• various tools
• medical equipment
• banjo picks

Many household items are not safe for use in BDSM play, especially by inexperienced practitioners. Among them:

• most household chemicals and drugs
• silk scarves and neckties
• certain types of rope
• bamboo canes (which can splinter)
