Pervertible

Pervertible is a widely used term originally coined by David Stein to describe ordinary non-sexual objects, especially everyday household objects, that can used sexually, particularly in BDSM play. The word is frequently misspelled "pervertable."

Many household items are not safe for use in BDSM play, especially by inexperienced practitioners. Among them:

  • most household chemicals and drugs
  • silk scarves and neckties
  • certain types of rope
  • bamboo canes (which can splinter)
