Pentangle

A pentangle is a five sided star that can be drawn continuously without lifting the pen. In the medieval romance of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, it was on Gawain's shield along with a madonna. The pentangle was said to be part of a theme of fives throughout the story, standing for his five virtues.
