Pelasgus

In Greek mythology, Pelasgus referred to several different people.

  1. One was the ancestor of the Pelasgians, whom Herodotus claimed were the oldest inhabitants of Greece.
  2. Another was the King of Argos; he welcomed Danaus and the Danaides when they fled from Aegyptus.
  3. Another was the father of Larissa
  4. Another was the father of Lycaon with Meliboea and the first king of Arcadia
  5. Another was a son of Niobe by Zeus
