Owen Lars

Owen Lars is a fictional character from the Star Wars films, the son of farmer Cliegg Lars. He married Beru Whitesun and became Luke Skywalker's uncle. Owen and Beru protect Luke by preventing him from leaving the isolation an anonymity of life on the planet Tatooine. In A New Hope, Owen and Beru were killed by Imperial Stormtroopers.

An early edition of the novel based on the movie Return of the Jedi, Obi-Wan Kenobi refers to Owen as his brother, but this is corrected in latter printings.
