Geographic and Demographic

North Sumatra as its name imply, is located in norhtern part of Sumatra. To the northwest, it borders Aceh province. To the southeast, it borders Riau and West Sumatra province. To the northeast is the Straits of Malacca. To the southwest is the Indian Ocean.

North Sumatra has the population of more than 11 million, and has the area of 70.787 kmē.
