Mekong Delta

The Mekong Delta is the region where the Mekong River debouches into the sea through a network of tributaries. The region includes a large portion of southernmost Vietnam.

During the Vietnam War, the Delta region saw fighting between Viet Cong guerillas and units of the United States Navy operating in small river boats.
