Litchfield, Connecticut

Litchfield is a borough in Litchfield County, Connecticut. As of 2000 its population was 1,328 living in an area of 57.3 square miles (148 km²). Litchfield was founded in 1721, and in the late 18th century was the major commercial center for northwestern Connecticut. Famous residents have included Ethan Allen, Andrew Adams, and Harriet Beecher Stowe.
