Korah

People named Korah or Kórach (קרח "Baldness; ice; hail; frost", Standard Hebrew Qóraḥ, Tiberian Hebrew Qōraḥ) in the Bible:

  • One of Esau's sons.
  • A grandson of Esau, mentioned in Genesis. It does not appear other places than Genesis 36:16. Some believe this is actually a scribal error, and omits the name.
  • A person in the genealogy of Tribe of Judah.
  • A levite,son of Izhar and hence the cousin of Moses and Aaron. He is remembered for the rebellious action together with Dathan and Abiram against Moses.
