Joel Spolsky

Joel Spolsky is the founder of Fog Creek Software and the writer of a popular site on software development, Joel on Software, which read by millions of software developers around the world and translated into 29 languages. He has over ten years of experience managing the software development process. As a Program Manager on the Microsoft Excel team, Joel designed Excel Basic and drove Microsoft's Visual Basic for Applications strategy. As a Technical Manager at Juno Online Services, he designed and implemented many of the Internet features of Juno. Joel holds a BS summa cum laude from Yale University with distinction in Computer Science. Before attending Yale he was a sergeant in the Israeli Paratroopers and a founder of Kibbutz Hanaton.

Authored: His User Interface Design for Programmers was published by APress in 2001. Another book will appear next year.
