J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., commonly JP Morgan Chase is a worldwide provider of banking and investment services. J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. is a global financial services firm with operations in more than 50 countries. Before the merger with Bank One, the company's wholesale businesses are comprised of four segments:

  • Investment Bank (IB), which provides investment banking and commercial banking products and services.
  • Treasury & Securities Services (TSS), whose three businesses provide debt servicing, securities custody and related functions, and treasury and cash management services to corporations, financial institutions and governments.
  • Investment Management & Private Banking (IMPB) which provides investment management services to institutional investors, high net worth individuals and retail customers.
  • JPMorgan Partners (JPMP), which is the Company's private equity business.

Since the merger, the entire bank has been re-organized along six divisions:

  • Asset & Wealth Management
  • Card Services
  • Commercial Banking
  • Investment Banking
  • Retail Financial Services
  • Treasury & Securities Services

The Company's national consumer and middle market businesses, which provide lending and full-service banking to consumers and small and middle market businesses, collectively comprise Chase Financial Services.

It was created by the merger of J.P. Morgan and Chase Manhattan Bank in 2000. It is currently in the process of acquiring the Chicago-based Bank One. Based in New York City, with offices around the world, J.P. Morgan Chase is traded on the NYSE under the symbol JPM.
