Israel Railways

Israel Railways primarily serves Israel's densely populated coastal plain. Lines radiate out from Tel Aviv, reaching Haifa, Be'er Sheva, and Ashdod. The line to Jerusalem was suspended in 1998, due to poor track, but is slated to return after being rebuilt and upgraded. Israel Railways traces its roots to the railway lines built by the British and Turkish authorities.
