Isoko

Isoko is an area in Nigeria most diversified in terms of ethnic groups and languages as the commonly spoken language (Isoko) varies within a distance of one kilometer. This was popularly sang in a song composed by one of the indigenes (Evi Edna Ogoli) when she sang "one kilometer is another language".

The Isokos are a friendly community living in the lower Niger Delta Region of Nigeria. The area has many mineral resources.

Major towns

Isoko is divided into two main Local Government Areas - Isoko South (with Local Government Headquarters in Irri) and Isoko North (with Local Government Headquarters in Ozoro).

Some of the towns that make up Isoko are: Irri, Ozoro, Okpe, Ofagbe, Uro, Ada, Orie, Idheze, Utue, Ivrogbo, Iyede, Owhe, Bethel, Oyede, Iluelogbo, Ivori, Ibrede, Emede,Olomoro, Igbide, Olleh, Uzere, Emevor, Otor-Ohwe and others.
