Impossible Princess is the title of an album by Australian singer Kylie Minogue, released by Deconstruction Records in 1998.
In the United Kingdom, the album was released with the title Kylie Minogue due to the recent death of Diana, Princess of Wales.
On this album, Minogue attempted to establish herself as an "indie" artist and among the people who collaborated with her on this album was James Dean Bradfield of Manic Street Preachers. Minogue wrote all lyrics on the album with the exception of one track, "I Don't Need Anyone" where the lyric credit was shared with Nick Jones.
Despite very positive reviews, the album peaked at number 10 on the British charts, and after four weeks had dropped out of the charts completely, making it the lowest selling album of Minogue's career. In Australia the album reached number one and resurrected her flagging career. It became one of the year's biggest successes. Such was its popularity, that a fourth single, "Cowboy Style" was released, and Minogue embarked on a highly successful concert tour throughout Australia.
