Elektra Natchios

Elektra Natchios is a fictional character in Marvel Comics' Marvel Universe. She was created by Frank Miller for the Daredevil title. Elektra is a ninja and an assassin who wields a bladed sai as her trademark weapon. Elektra is one of Miller's more memorable creations for Marvel, and subsequent writers' use of her is controversial among comic book fandom.

In the film Daredevil, Elektra was played by Jennifer Garner; her story arc in the film roughly followed that of the original Frank Miller comics. A film spin-off, Elektra, also starring Jennifer Garner, is slated for a 2004 release.

Elektra was the daughter of a Greek ambassador, and the college girlfriend of Matt Murdock, the man who would become Daredevil. When her father was killed in a kidnapping, she lost faith and hope, and she turned to the Hand, a sect of mystical ninjas, who trained her as an assassin. She came into conflict with Daredevil several times; after one such conflict, she was fatally stabbed by Bullseye with one of her own sais. Her body subsequently disappeared, and it was revealed years later that she had been resurrected, her evil aspect having been split apart from her in its own body during a ritual performed over her body after her death. Her two halves were reunited, and she wandered the world becoming acquainted with Wolverine. She received her own series twice; the second series was published under Marvel's MAX imprint.
