Chicagoland
Chicagoland is a name for the Chicago metropolitan area, which is made up of nine counties in three states. The name comes from a term promoted by the Chicago Tribune in the early 20th century.
The Chicago–Joliet–Naperville–Gary, Indiana–Kenosha, Wisconsin Consolidated Metropolitan Statistical Area (CMSA) had 9,157,540 inhabitants in the 2000 census.
